Permanently blocking malicious sender

Please Help! I have tried everything I know how...

I have Outlook Express (not 2003). Somehow I got on a
list and am now receiving a daily email (sometimes twice
a day) from a site that I do not want to receive. I have
set my emails to be in plain text. I have put this sender
on my Blocked Senders list. I have made a rule so it goes
to the Deleted Items folder every day, and then I have to
manually empty the folder. From Internet Explorer, I
delete my cookies. I delete my daily files. I have added
all the permutations of this site to the Restricted Sites
list, even knowing that the address I see on my end is
probably bogus.

Am I doomed to receive mail from these jerks forever? A
friend (my ex, actually, so I can't ask...) once removed
their signature from my machine, but now I am getting
emails from them again. What can I do?

Thanks,
Waffle Princess

This newsgroup is for support of Outlook 97-2003 from the Office
family for Windows PCs. For Outlook Express (OE) support try posting in one
of
these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...blic.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress
for OE 5.5x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...ublic.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress
for OE 6.x
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...;newsgroupsmicrosoft.public.internet.mail.mac
for the Macintosh version of OE
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...ess.mac&SLCID=US&sd=GN&id=fh;en-us;newsgroups

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups). The links under the newsgroup
references are for use with MS's web newsreader (not exactly the best way to
post but it works for some people)

Also a good source of Outlook Express info can be found here:

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After furious head-scratching, waffleprincess asked this group:

I have Outlook Express (not 2003).

This group is for *Outlook*, not outlook exoress, but the questions are more
general email qurestions.... the answers will apply to every email client.
list and am now receiving a daily email (sometimes twice
a day) from a site that I do not want to receive.

The follwo the subscribe instructions containned in the mail - or go to the
site and unsubscribe. Note that if it's mail you didn't sign up for, trying
to unsub your address often makes the problems worse.
set my emails to be in plain text.

This has no bering on the problem.
I have put this sender on my Blocked Senders list.

This will get the messages out of your inbox. Better is to create a rule to
delete all mail from that address.
I have made a rule so it goes
to the Deleted Items folder every day, and then I have to
manually empty the folder.

See above. I'm pretty sure OE supports permanent deleting. Some mail servers
allow you to set up rules on the server to block spam and unwanted mail, so
you may be able to block it before it gets into your mailbox.
From Internet Explorer, I
delete my cookies. I delete my daily files. I have added
all the permutations of this site to the Restricted Sites
list, even knowing that the address I see on my end is
probably bogus.

These have nothing to do with your email. If you visit the site in an
attempt to unsubscribe, it will protect you from potential exploits they may
use. If you feel the address is bogus and don't trust the site, do not try
to unsubscribe. Use a rule to delete the mail and consider it a lesson in
what not to do in the future...
Am I doomed to receive mail from these jerks forever?

Yes, mostly likely, unless your ISP blocks them as spammers or you get a new
address.
friend (my ex, actually, so I can't ask...) once removed
their signature from my machine, but now I am getting
emails from them again. What can I do?

Your friends signature? Has no effect... if you mean their account, had no
effect. If you mean they are sending you email and you don't want email from
them, either tell them to stop or add a rule to delete messages from them.

I found the answer! So simple... For those who want to
never see malicious emails again, just create a mail rule
to delete it from the server (guess I never knew this
mail rule existed, I'm not famous for RTFM'ing). It won't
stop the spammer, but I will never have to see the mail
in my inbox or manually delete their junk again (I had
already made a rule to Block the sender, OE doesn't have
a fancy shmancy Junk E-mail filter like Outlook'03).

Thank you both for your help and for pointing me to the
other helpful sites...
