I recently replaced my old computer, emachine w/windows
XP, due to the computer having alot of virius. It has
been sitting for a couple of weeks. I recently tried to
setup everything again, to try and remove some
files/pictures from the old computer.When I turn the
computer on, it will show me the startup screen with the
icons, but after about 5 seconds, the screen will
disappear. The screen will reappear approx. 5 or so
seconds later, and will continue to do this. The hour
glass will continously appear, but I can not get any of
the icons to open up or get to the program files
directory before the screen disappears. Does anyone have
any suggestions of what might be happening? Is something
damaged? Is there anything that I can try to resolve
without taking it in? I am trying to recover some
files/pictures. Please help with any
thoughts,suggestions. Thanks Jack
 
If you value the stuff you put up on your e-machine,
Everone knows that PC 101 says virus proctection is
necessary. I hope you learned that lesson well. If you
didn't, buying another computer won't help.
