In services, attempt to start "Performances Logs and Alerts" yields following popup message -"The Performance Logs and Alerts service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example Performance Logs and Alerts" - In the "Add Counters" dialog, there are <No counters> and <No instances> displayed. In "Add/Remove Columns" dialog, "Available columns" is blank! The service ( C:\WINDOWS\system32\smlogsvc.exe ) apparantly performs the counter data collection, and will not run, hence no counters. Any HELP would be greatly appreciated! OS = XP Pro SP1
