Perfmon Problem

Ever since I installed XP I have found that perfmon
doesn't work. When I try to add a counter it only lists
the counter numbers rather than the names. I have tried
in vain to work this one out. The event log is below:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: LoadPerf
Event Category: None
Event ID: 3012
Date: 12/07/2003
Time: 15:46:50
User: N/A
Computer:
Description:
The performance strings in the Performance registry value
is corrupted when process Performance extension counter
provider. BaseIndex value from Performance registry is
the first DWORD in Data section, LastCounter value is the
second DWORD in Data section, and LastHelp value is the
third DWORD in Data section.

Go to Start>Run type: sfc /scannow make sure your WinXP cd is in
the drive.
