I have a running total of figures recorded each week which when totalled
works out this percentage 17257 / 20476 = 84.28% So far since Jul 2003

Now we have 14 weeks left to the end of the year, so the question is:

What percentage to we have to hit each week, to raise the total July 2003 -
March 2004 to 90% and how the hell do you work it out.

Is there a formula, does Excel have a function?
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

Shane
I don't see how you can do this. Since each weeks percentage will have a different weight, it will effect the cumulative percentage differently

Say next week you have 1/1 for 100%. This will have almost no effect on the cumulative percentage. But if next week you have 5000/5000 for 100%, this will have a big effect on the cumulative percent. You really need to have an idea on how to weight each of the upcoming weeks

However, judging from your numbers, you are doing an average of 446/553 each week. If you were to do 553/553 every week for the next 14 weeks you will still only reach 88.8% for the year. So that 90% doesn't look very promising

Good Luck

I see you point, I was hoping there was an easy answer, but then that is not
very often ture.
