Pentax Digital Camera installation

Have just purchased a Pentax Optio 33WR digital Camera,
which came with some software to install (ACDSee for PETAX)
I have no problem installing the software, but when I try
to use it my PC stops responding. Is this software
incompatible with Window XP.
Have tried installing the camera from Control Panel, but
this type of camera is not in the drop-down box.

Unlikely that it's incompatible, but more likely that it isn't necessary.
There are many image manipulation programs available - commercial and
free; simple and not so simple. Here are two freebies that have amazing
