Is it possible to lock an amount (such us 10%) of the whole available
space on a flash drive (pen drive) to eliminate any possibility of
overwriting/cancellation/.... ?
How do i perform that?

Thanks
Vinnie

How would "locking space" prevent one from overwriting a file?

that's the point.
I wanna put some files on a pen drive (doc, pdf,...) but i want to
keep them from being deleted, so if i borrow my pen to anyone, i'm
sure that they remain on it, even if they try to delete all.
For example, when someone buys a new pc, there is an area on that pc
reserved to the operating system (such as Win-XP or Linux) that keeps
all the source files. So, if by any chance the user cancels any system
file needed by win (or linux) to run, you can easely fix the problem
for you have all the source files well kept on your hard disk.

Thanks

This is not the case, you may easily delete/remove those source files
from the hard drive. On the other hand you may purchase a pen drive with
a mechanical write protect switch. Why are you "loaning" the pen drive
if you don't wish it to be used? If you are wishing to transfer files,
use a CD/DVD then there is no worry.

we are charitable org. and we would like to send to our supporters a
pen drive (that they can use and reuse) with our info on it (such us
web site,....). this is why we are trying to "lock" some small files
on this pen drive. But it's turning out harder then expected....

There may be some method out there of doing that, but you will need to
buy it, and of course the determined user will still find a way to
remove it. Consider silkscreening your URL on the exterior.
