I have 2 PC's. 1 running Windows XP PRO, the other running Windows XP Home.
Both are connected to the Internet thru a Router connected to a Broadband
Cable Access. Both can access the Internet, have there own IP's via DHCP and
both have SP 2 installed. I have a printer shared on the XP PRO system and a
folder Shared on the XP Home system. The problem is I cannot access the
shared printer on the XP PRO system. The XP PRO system can see and access the
shared folder on the XP Home system without any problems. Both are set for
the same MSHOME Workgroup. Has anyone had and resolved this type of issue.

I think you have to have drivers on the other computer thats connected to the
printer, ALSO, I think you need to have another port open for it to work

I have tryed opening the firewall completelt on both systems. I am doing this
for a friend and they claim the printer share worked before the SP 2 install.

What happens when you try?

It says it cannot find the computername. I have also tryed using IP to map
and still no success. One other thing I forgot to mention, I cannot ping
either machine from the setup.

You may have to enable the exception for File and Printer
Sharing in the firewall.

This is summary of the fixed issue. The users system I was working on, failed
to tell they had just installed McAfee Internet Security Suite with Firewall
active. I guess I need to look closer in the future. Life is good again.
