I am trying to get three computers working in a peer-to-peer network Two
computers are running Windows XP Home (one laptop and one desktop) and the
third is running Win98. I can get a connection from the laptop to the other
two computers but when I try to connect to a share on the laptop I get a
password prompt. The User is RPC and is grayed out.

I can connect between the two desktops with out any problems.

Any ideas?

If the problem occurs trying to access a share on the XP machine from a 98
machine, and the password prompt is for the IPC$ share, then create user
accounts on the XP box that use the same credentials (usernames and
passwords) used to log in to the 98 boxes.
