Peer-to-peer network between XP Home and Windows 2000

Our goal is to download data from our old computer (with
Windows 2000) to our new computer (with Windows XP Home).
A crossover cable is connected to the ethernet card on
each computer. The cable is OK and the new computer can
see the old computer but we can't access the old
computer's hard drive. We are convinced that everything
is setup correctly.

Is there a conflict with Windows 2000?

No, there's no conflict -- all versions of Windows can network with
each other.

Please reply to this message in the news group (not by E-mail) with
more information to help other people understand the problem:

How are you trying to access the old computer's hard drive -- what are
you typing or clicking? What exactly happens when you do it? If
there's an error message, what does it say?

On the W2k computer, you have to "share" the c: drive.
