On my WinXP box I have a folder named:
c:\6af3a409c9915641b76ec7
size: 6,389,692 bytes
sub-folders: amd64 i383
creation date: 01/28/2009 10:19:13-0500

Anyone know anything about this?

Yes, it's a folder from a Windows Update. It can be deleted, as it should
have been.

I just did another update and now I have a file:
path: c:\pagefile.sys
size: 2,145,386,496 bytes.

Another thing to delete?

Thanks again,
Mike.

This was there before, too. You have turned on View Hidden and System
Files and Folders.
size: 2,145,386,496 bytes.

This is a reflection of the amount of RAM your system has.

No.

Please, pagefile.sys is the Windows pagefile, what is also referred to as
Virtual Memory. This is one of the core things that Windows is standing
on. You wouldn't remove your lungs just because they make empty space in
your chest. These things are there for a reason.

Pretty much the only time you should or can delete this is if it's been
damaged (often by a brief power outage that rapidly reboots the system) and
prevents a restart, and you've attached the drive to another system. You
*can* set the system to delete the pagefile on shutdown, but this causes
rebooting delays. At other times, Windows is using it and will not allow
access to it.
