Hi,

How can I stopped PDF files from opening in the Internet Explorer, and make
sure that they are opened in Acrobay only, and not an instance of acroaby in
Internet Explorer

You will probably have to save the pdf file to your hard drive first, then
select the file and open it from there. It should then open in the adobe
reader application instead of inside of the Internet browser.

But in most website you can not choose to save the , and it will then
automatically open in Internet Explorer, this unacceptable because then
Internet Explorer becomes unusable until it opens the PDF, and the PDF is
usually unreadeble, or extremely slow to go true, and also everytime that I
want/need to consul the PDF I need to be online.

There must be a way to disable/prevent Acrobay from doing this

I already use the latest version of Acrobay, but in most webside the
right-click option does not work because they use some kind of script when
you click on them the the PDF will open in Internet Explorer.

And I already knew that tip for all link, but the only one that still keep
opening in Internet Explorer is PDF, all other were trying to open directly
in Internet Explorer I was able to modify that behavior.

I do not understand why anyone would want anything else but web content
(html, or asp, aspx) to open in Iternet Explorer, that is the reason why the
Internet is so slow, and it's just getting worse. If all those alien content
would just be downloaded it would be alot faster and easier for all

go to your configuration screen and select there standard programs, there you
can select what program you woulg like to use to open files. scroll down till
you see pdf and set it up yo open with adobe reader.

If you disable the scripting, thenn you don't have anything because you
don't even know wheter the link is just that a link, or if it is a file, and
waiting for the PDF to load mean that I will minutes (note the S) before I
can use the computer becuase then Internet Explorer just take all resources
and nothing else happen

And when I try to open Acroaby it open barely the size of its splash screen,
but if it does not open at all in Internet Explorer it will remain the right
size so that I can read the document, and also I do not need to be online to
get access to it.

What would be the point of not losing the focus of the page, whether I keep
it or not I can not do anything until the PDF as finish loading

It is already like that, it just that stupidly Internet Explorer, and even
Mozilla opens all PDF using some kind of plug-in, and thats what I would
like to get rid of

Try this.

In your Acrobat Reader,

Edit > Preferences > Internet
Uncheck: Display PDF in browser

The setting works for me.

Are you using Acrobat 8.1.2? Toggling the setting on/off will trigger
Windows Installer to run and reconfigure Acrobat Reader each time.

I already done that and the same, it simply does not do a thing it keeps
opening them

Hi
Log to the Control Panel, double click on Default Programs, choose the
second entry, Associate a Type of File... and configure the pdf extension.
don't forget to check the box down at the pdf extension menu.
