I am using fp 2003 and I imported my pdf file to the website directory, I then linked to it normally, but it shows up blank in the browser and the pdf toolbar never loads. This is not a big file, and it does not load at all. I'm trying to do this from work and it won't work, I did the exact same thing at home with my 2002 version of fp and it worked perfectly. Can anyone help?

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer at work?

Also the blank page opens in a new browser window.
.
I've seen the same problem at my friends home. I
completely uninstalled all versions of adobe reader. He
had several of them installed, I'm not sure if this is
what caused it. Anyway, after you uninstall it. Download a
fresh install from adobe site and install it. Then test it
out again. This worked for me. Don't forget to restart pc
after uninstall and reinstall.

Use File Preview in Browser
- don't believe you can preview PDFs in FP viewer

I've seen Acrobat cause odd display issues sometimes when it starts checking
for updates to the Acrobat software. When it does this while loading a PDF
in the browser window, it sometimes makes it impossible for you to click OK
on the "would you like to check for updates" dialog.

Try changing your update settings within Acrobat to manual.

Good luck!

Mickie,

Was the fix as I suggested to disable the updating? The reply wasn't quoted
in your message. I just want clarification so we know to make that
suggestion for the next user who sees this problem.

Thanks!

perhaps those particular types of files are being blocked by your work's
network/firewall.?? Or is what you're trying to do associated directly with your
job?

Disabling the automatic updates worked temporarily, but now it doesn't! The files are not being blocked by the network because I can sometimes view them. Help!

Any chance you can share the URL with us? It will help to see it.

They aren't being blocked, because I could view them for a short time. I just figured out that I can view the pdf files in a netscape browser, but not internet explorer. Does anyone have any suggestions, my company uses IE, not netscape

I haven't uploaded the site yet, and even if I did it's an Intranet so no one else would have access. It works perfectly fine in Netscape, and if I don't have it load in the browser in I.E. it's fine, so maybe that's what I will have to do, unless anyone else has any suggestions

Without the ability to see what's happening, I'm out of ideas. Sorry I
can't be more helpful.

Re-install the Adobe Reader

Thanks for trying, I did find this link on adobe site that accurately describes the problem I'm having. I will provide a link below, basically it says that you have to either disable the web browser viewing feature of the reader or remove Adobe reader 6 and go back to 5.
