I have an acrobat pdf file that I have attached to a slide. I would
like to be able to put the slide up as part of a slide show and to be
able to scroll from the top of the form to the bottom of the form
while looking at that slide. However, the form is too long for the
slide and on the screen the slide seems to show only the middle area
of the form.

How do I position the form on the screen to be at the top and how do I
scroll down the form. When I try using the up and down arrows all
that happens is that I move to a diferent slide.

thanks for the help.

You might want to start here

My PowerPoint PDF's are cropped; footers, page numbers, dates are missing

If that don't do it, then try here.

I forgot to mention that I am running on a PC with PowerPoint 2002. As I am
new to the program, please explain any steps to handle this, as carefully as
you can.

thanks,

PowerPoint doesn't have the ability to scroll slide content, unfortunately.

If this is a presentation you run out of PowerPoint itself (and not the
viewer), you could add a bit of VBA activated by Up and Down buttons on the
slide itself to nudge the picture up/down, though.

thank you Michael but your answer does not helo me at all. I already have
the pdf file placed on a slide. My problem is that the picture of the file
is too large for the slide and I cannot crop any part of the picture as I
need the entire picture. What I do need is a way to scroll thorugh the
entire picture from top to bottom.

Thank you Steve, however as I said, I am new to the program and don't know
VBA for Powerpoint. Is there a simpler soilution avaialble?

Yes, thank you. I have already figured out that if I have no other choice,
then I will go to the Internet site and work from there.

Doesn't Microsoft realize that scrolling is a feature they shoudl add to the
product?

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the Critical
Update or Service Pack 1 for Office 2003 as soon as possible. From
PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for Updates".]

[TOP ISSUE - Are you having difficulty opening presentations in PowerPoint
that you just created (you can save, but not open)? -
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=329820]

Hello,

Since you are using PowerPoint 2002 (same is possible in 2003) you could
add Action Buttons (with no Action Settings) which trigger motion path
animation effects (Up and Down) applied to the PDF picture, such that when
you click on the "down" Action Button the picture moves up (scrolls down)
and when you click on the "up" button the picture moves back down (scrolls
up).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint should provide make it easier to provide "scrolling"
functionality during slide show, don't forget to send your feedback (in
YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft by either:

PREFERRED METHOD:

A) If you are using Microsoft's web-based, online newsreader for Office
communities
(http://www.microsoft.com/office/community/en-us/default.mspx?dg=microsoft.p
ublic.powerpoint), check to see whether or not the suggestion has been
submitted before (Show -> Suggestions for Microsoft) and, if so, add your
vote to the suggestion submission. If the suggestion has not been submitted
before, click on the "New" drop-down menu and choose "Suggestion for
Microsoft" from directly within the newsreader web page.

OR, NEXT BEST METHOD:

B) If you are using another newsreader (such as Microsoft Outlook Express),
submit your suggestion using your web browser at the following address:
http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

It's VERY important that, for EACH wish, you describe in detail, WHY it is
important TO YOU that your product suggestion be implemented. A good wish
submssion includes WHAT scenario, work-flow, or end-result is blocked by
not having a specific feature, HOW MUCH time and effort ($$$) is spent
working around a specific limitation of the current product, etc. Remember
that Microsoft receives THOUSANDS of product suggestions every day and we
read each one but, in any given product development cycle, there are ONLY
sufficient resources to address the ones that are MOST IMPORTANT to our
customers so take the extra time to state your case as CLEARLY and
COMPLETELY as possible so that we can FEEL YOUR PAIN.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
