pdf attachements

Hi

Had an automatic update appear which I downloaded but
ever since I have not been able to open pdf
attachements. It is shown as greyed out. All other
attachments are fine. The only way I can open it, is to
click forward and then the attachment is shown.
Has anyone got any advice?

What update caused you this grief? Was it a Microsoft update or an Adobe
update?

My first inclinations is to remove the update you last installed. My second
is to disable automatic updates on your computer. There are some know
exploits involving bogus updates.
 
I bought a new laptop a few months ago and installed XP Pro, Office XP and
Adobe 5. I had all kinds of problems until I dumped Adobe.
