PC's on same subnet can not ping each other.

Yes, check the firewalls. A common feature of firewalls - both XP and third
party - is to block ping response.

If no help yet, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from at least 3
computers, including ones that can't ping each other, so we can diagnose the
