PCMCIA floppy drive

I have a Sony FRV31 laptop computer running windows XP
HOME and am trying to install a PCMCIA LS 120 floppy
drive into the PCMCIA expansion slot. When I install the
drive I get no drive letter on the desk top and therefore
can not access the drive. Can anyone help solve the
problem.
