PCI.SYS is missing or Corrupt

After installing Windows XP SP2, on first reboot, the
system stops and reports that PCI.SYS is missing or
corrupt. I am not able to boot off the install CD, and am
stuck. Other than taking the drive to another machine to
try to replace the file, what are my other alternatives.

Just a follow up... Found some info. regarding BIOS
update possibly fixing my issue. Tried it last night and
it worked. Thanks for the assistance.
