PCI IEEE 1394 CARD Network adapter. - HELP

I have installed this device on my PC, running Windows XP, but keep getting
error message in device manager as follows: This device cannot start Code
10. I have been back to the retailer who has given me a second one to try in
case the first one was faulty but that gave the same error message. I have
installed windows xp service pack 2 but that doesn't make any difference.
Any ideas?

I also have installed a Realtek ethernet card but there are no conflicts
listed anyway, both are on IRQ 18. At my wits end.

Thanks for taking the trouble to reply Raymond, but it seems that despite the
error message in Device Manager the Card is working, I tried plugging my Ipod
in and it picked it up straight away and worked without any problem, not sure
why it keeps showing the error message in device manager but as long as it
works that all that matters. Thanks again.
 
Hi,
I have a similar problem. Check to see if card is listed twice, one as an
IEEE1394 bus host controller, and once as a 1394 net adapter. Windows XP
seems to see two cards for the price of one, with or without SP2.
