PCI and DVI

I just tried to install a PCI DVI video card into my computer and when I
disconnect the other video card to the monitor and plug in the new one
nothing comes up on my screen HELP

Did you reboot?
Did you remove the other card? (or disable in the BIOS)
Did you check the Display Properties?
 
Proper Precedure
uninstall the old video card drivers under Control Panel/Add&remove
Uninstall the old video card under MyComputer/Hardware/device manager
Shut the Machine down
Remove old Video card
Install New Video Card
Start system............once fully started and the Add Hardware Wizard shows
direct the wizard to the Drivers CD that you received with your Video card.
