Hi,
my friends pc was fine,(until i got hold of it...help) put some memory in it
and that was ok. loaded some programmes that was fine. Tried to find software
to be able to use a dial up modem...it couldnt find any, so i removed the
modem....that seemed fine...had a coffee and turned pc back on and all it
does now is tries to boot up (in any mode safe...command prompt, last known
config etc) but then just restarts....cannot get it to load anything.
it gets to the same point each time then restarts
Help on this would be a life saver..
Many thanks

You could perform a repair installation...

If you perform a repair install, your installation media (CD) needs to
really be the same service pack level as your currently installed system.
You will likely need to create a new CD from the old one with SP2
slipstreamed/integrated into it. Something like "AutoStreamer" would assist
you in making this new CD from the old one.

Create a SP2 Slipstreamed Windows XP CD with Autostreamer
