PC too slow

When I first start my pc is very slow.. and I checked the
programs in process and there ir the svchost.exe running
and ocupating alomst all the cpu memory... is that some
kind of virus? or there is a problem with windows?

Not a virus! It is quite normal for svchost.exe to run three or four or
more, all at the same time. It is a part of Windows XP.

XP allocates memory to whatever service is required.. if you start a
process, memory allocation will be moved away from svchost.. the idea is
that XP uses as much installed memory as possible, thus speeding up all
tasks.. look to increase physical RAM to increase system speed.. 512mb is a
good amount..
