PC Shuts down While Idle

CAn someone tell me if my type motherboard is one to force shutdown if
processor overheats,It's been shutting down several times over the last
few days.My motherboard is a ASUS - A7N8X-E. Eagerly awaiting your
reply.......

Yes it`s got COP, Cpu Overheat Protection. Get the cover off. Check all fans
are running. Then switch off and unplug, and clean out the dust and muck.
Especially the
CPU and chipset Heatsinks.

Just go to Asus's website and look up the specs. Or look in your
motherboard manual (if you have one) or in the BIOS for those options.
This doesn't have anything to do with the operating system (Windows
XP).

What is "Power MAnagement" configuration?
Desktop i presume?

Provide more info that may be pertinent!!
