My Pc has started crashing and restarting 4-5 times a day. I can be
web-surfing or in a program such as MS Money. Works. I have cleared out all
tem, porary files and reviewed All Programs for any program to remove. This
has been going on for two weeks and I have not installed any program other
than MS Money 2005 which I have removed.

I certainly will appreciate any help about where to start looking. I've run
Norton Utilities for System, Windows and Disc doctors okay.

Thanks a lot.

A problem like this could be a lot of things...
1. Have you installed any new hardware lately? Check all of your hardware
drivers - new or old. Could also be a hardware conflict.
2. Program conflict? (I doubt it, but it's possible.) Look at your
programs again and start noting any time there was a crash with a program to
see if you can find a pattern - if not, it's probably not a program problem.
3. (*Advanced*) Is your computer's processor overclocked? If so, drop it
down to its original speed or even drop it below its clock speed; if that
doesn't work, however, if you do have to drop the speed below the clock
speed, you likely have a bad memory module. Some computers have an optical
or hyper mode - make sure your computer is set to optical.
4. It's kind of related to 3, but your computer's memory may be going bad -
very common symptoms when memory is going bad are random restarts. (I don't
care what the age of your memory is, this could be a problem. I've used a
memory module right out of the box that did this.
5. Your computer's power supply unit may be going bad - very common
symptoms when the power supply goes bad is lots of crashing - I've even had
two power supplies that wouldn't even turn on the computer because they were
completely dead.

Thanks for your prompt reply. I'll proceed to work through them. RE item 3
(advanced), I have never gotten beyond the intermediate stage and will have
to pass up this one.
