Very strange problem started wit my PC last week. OS = XP Home SP2; Problem:
I go into Control Panel, then into Dispay Properties. I can click on all
tabs EXCEPT the moment (approx 1/2 sec) I go into the Screen Saver, the
system suddently goes into a PC reboot! Anyone ever heard of such a thing?
How can it be easily fixed?
Thank you
Steve

Uncheck "Auto Startup" in System Properties / Advanced / Startup and
Recovery / Settings. This will give you a error message before computer
restarts . This error message will be helpful in troubleshooting your
problem. JJ

Thanks JJ
did just that. here is what came up on a blue background:

---------------------------------------------
probelm seems to be caused by:
NV4_disp.dll
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA

Technical info:
***STOP: 0X00000050 (0X89C80377, 0X00000000, 0XBFAC587E, 0X00000000)

***NV4_disp.dll - Address BFAC587E base at BFA0B000, Datestamp 3eb2f82b

JJ:
Any help at this point how to respsolve would be more than helpful!

Thank You
Steve

The same happens to me when I try to burn a cd using nero except that
it lists the file sysdrv.sys. Maybe somebody could help me out too.

It look like the error message refers to the main driver on your Nvidia
based display card . Try to upgrade the driver from the card manufacture's
website or the Nvidia site. JJ

JJ,
You did it my friend! I obtained an updated driver from the Nvidia web
site. Uninstalled the previous one using Add or Remove Programs; rebooted as
instructed (that got me into a bit of trouble..which makes sense, but was
able to work around it after several reboots and got a crap display good
enough to manuver around ); disabled my virus program, then installed the new
driver. After another reboot, it works like new!
Thanks again for help me out!! Have a Happy New Year!

Glad I could help you out Steve. JJ
