Help please

Afte I have been on the web (using Internet Explorer) for a short period (10-15 minutes), my PC shuts down for no apparent reason

What is causing this to happen and how can I stop it.

You probably have the Blaster worm.

Go here and follow instructions:

You need to download and install all MS Critical Patches and Updates.

Then, to keep your computer safe, you need the following:

A good Anti-Virus scanner

A good firewall like Zone Alarm or the built in XP firewall

Ad-Aware 6.0 - for removing spyware

Before running these, do the following:

Delete temporary internet files and internet history.
