Hello,
I'm running a process and I received the following error:
jre.exe
- Application Error:
The instruction at "0x00010109" referenced memory
at "0x016213af", the memory
could not be "written"
I understand that I need to apply a fix (Q268722) but I'm
having problems obtaining it. Can anyone help?

This does not appear to be the same problem outlined in the article you
mentioned (the article refers to CMD.EXE ... your error message looks like a
problem with JRE.EXE). If you did a quick Web Search with your favorite
search engine on "Application Error" and "JRE.EXE" you'd be pointed in the
right direction. I believe this has to do with the java runtime
environment.

In general, if you have need for a hotfix, please follow the steps outlined
in the article to obtain the hotfix.

"Contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the fix. For a
complete list of Microsoft Product Support Services phone numbers and
information about support costs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;EN-US;CNTACTMS

NOTE: In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support
calls may be canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a
specific update will resolve your problem. The usual support costs will
apply to additional support questions and issues that do not qualify for the
specific update in question."

HTH,
Daniel
