Patches I'd like to see for Outlook 2003.

1 Search results with logical fields. If I search through my SENT items for
the word "status report" (or any other term) it should display the sent TO
field. It always displays the from field - it is my sent items I'm
searching so guess what, they are always from me! I can add the field after
the search but it would make sense for it always to display the TO field.

2 The ability to open more than one outlook profile simultaneously.

3 Block domain for junk mail. Not sure why I can add an entire domain to a
safelist but not block an entire domain - seems odd or if it exists it isn't
as easy as adding to them to the safe list.

4 More reliable opening for multiple e-mail accounts. One of my profiles
has 3 e-mail accounts in it. Frequently when I open, it will have the
e-mail from another account showing in the inbox of another account and none
of the account data for that account. Send and receive often errors on the
initial sync. If I seperate the accounts into seperate profiles this never
occurs. I have run scanpst and there are no errors.

5 More reliable outlook closes. Can't tell you how many times I "close"
outlook and it is still running under task manager. So when I go to open
another profile it opens the same one I just closed.


The above seem like patches they could apply to 2003 but the one below would
probably require some new technology.

The ability to embed my font for my signature so it wouldn't be blocked as
pictures are not always downloaded and so they could click on it to copy
paste, link etc. and so it would appear in my company's font.
 
This is not Microsoft, no matter how much it may appear from the web link.

How are you doing the search? you can add the fields before the search or
create custom views that show the fields you want.

It's a mapi limitation. You can use Fast User Switching to open two at once.

Outlook can block the domain but needs each node added:
exchange.microsoft.com is not the same as microsoft.com

Sounds like you have a bad profile.

Are you using ActiveSync? Make sure the pda is not cradled when you open and
close outlook. if it's not ActiveSync, it's some other program keeping
outlook open.

your best bet is the next version - these things won't be added to current
versions.

it would only work if everyone you send email to reads their mail using
Word.
