Patch installations fail

I recently installed a new motherboard, got a new harddrive, and reinstalled windows. I installed BF1942, and Warcraft III, but I cant install either of their patches. For BF1942 I get a message that the executable is corrupt and I need to get another version of the patch, however I got this patch from the official site and after downloading the patch many times from many places it still does not work. Also when I attempt to install the Warcraft III frozen throne patch I get the message that it is "unable to authenticate archive". I have a feeling the problem isnt the patches themselves, rather some problem with my computer, any ideas?

Hi Help,

At first glance it's possible you have a virus, or that your virus
scanner is corrupting the download by scanning it while your
are in the process of downloading and/or installing the patch.

I'm pretty sure I dont have a virus and I'm also pretty sure that the anti-virus software isnt the problem either. I'm pretty sure its some hardware discreptancy. Not sure which component though... either the harddrive... or maybe its the RAM... tough to tell, I was wondering if you could help me find the cause of this problem

Do you have Cryptographic Services enabled and running in Control
