Every time I try to paste in to a Word document, a small red box, slightly
tilted, is displayed. The text to be pasted is not. This is driving ne
nuts!!! PLEASE HELP!

Where are you pasting from? If there is some formatting that Word doesn't
recognize you may get that result. Try Paste Special...

It doesn't seem to matter where I'm pasting from, Chuck. Usually it's either
from emails or web sites. The result is always the same...that damn little
red box. If I click on it it will straighten and if I click the field it
turns blue inside a black box!! Insane. Thanks for your help.

Web sites and e-mail always have formatting included. Try the Paste Special
function (Edit> Paste Special) I personally use a little program that is
called Pure Text. After copying the text to the clip board, I simply click
on the Pure Text icon in the task bar next to the clock (the formatting is
cleared in the clipboard) then paste normal.
