pasting shading from Excel into a Powerpoint table

I have an excel worksheet with conditional formatting. I'm trying to paste
from Excel into an existing powerpoint table. The numbers come in fine, but
the shading does not transfer over.
 
The PPT table doesn't understand conditional formatting, so it won't
maintain those settings.

How about just pasting the Excel datasheet onto the slide instead?
