Pasting into single datagrid cell?

I'm trying to paste characters into a single datagrid cell. The grid
has only two columns. Do I have to code something up on an event just
to get these characters in? Sample code suggestions?

The cells are enabled and can be edited.

Actually, I see this was more a problem with the data I was pasting.
It is line breaks that I wasn't seeing. I'm handling those situations
now.
