Is there a shortcut or hotkey way to paste text into applications
without HTML formatting? I've been running it through Notepad but there
must be an easier way.

Thanks for your help.

Depends on the application. Ask in a group specific to the application
you're using.

As Dave said, it depends on the application, but most applications that accept a HTML formatted paste also have some option like "Paste Special" which allows you to paste as plain text. For example, in Word you can select Edit, then Paste Special, then Unformatted Text.

Of course the applications have the ability to paste without formatting.
Yet some key combinations are common to all applications, like Ctrl-C
for paste. Is there an equivalent for paste without formatting?

Thanks.

If there is it is specific to the application, not the operating system.

If this guy went to the effort of writing this program then I guess the
answer is no, this ability is not built into Windows.

That's correct, it is not built in.
