Paste problem

Hi

Why is it when I copy some text from say an email when I open word xp and
paste I get a picture instead of the text?, if then I go back to the email
and copy again the return to word and paste I get the text! is there a
setting somewhere I need to change so I get text pasted when its text I
copied?

Hi Dave

In Word, try Edit > Paste Special. Choose Unformatted text. That will
copy raw text only.

Tried that, problem is that I only get the option of Bitmap or Device
independent bitmap, the picture I get is the same evertime no matter what
text I copy, looks like a very small picture of a mobile phone, pasting into
notepad I get text, again if I copy the same text from notepad and open word
and paste I get the picture, if I go back to notepad and copy the same thing
again back to the running copy of word and paste it pastes the text. very
strange.

I have this exact same problem. Down to the same mobile phone. I have bluetooth on my computer. That might explain the symbol. Do you have bluetooth drivers installed?
