Paste link problem

I am using the paste link function to link excel schedules. The problem I
have is that when I insert a row in excel, it messes up all my paste links.
So if I am linking to cell F5, and then I insert a row (making the data in F5
shift down to G5), the word document still links to F5 instead of G5. Is
there a way to fix this?

What happens if you assign names to a range
of cells in your Excel table then link to the named range?

Hello-

AFAIK, what you are asking cannot be done. Links point to a location in the
source file, not to specific content. In order for it to work the way you
want, the link would have to remember what it was looking for, where it used
to be, where it is now and what distinguishes it from identical content
stored elswhere in the workbook.

There may be other approaches to your intended result if you share more
about what you want to accomplish.
