Paste Functionality Gone

I can copy and paste within Notepad, but the rest of the functionality is
gone. For example, I can copy a string of text in IE, but cannot paste it
anywhere. Not in a search field, address bar, e-mail, etc. Nothing! Drah
and Drop seem ok and virus as well as spyware scans have turned up nothing.
Any ideas?

thank you, but nothing was found. I have run various checks for viruses and
spyware in both safe and normal mode as well as system restore turned on and
off.

Paste does work in safe mode, however. I have tried selective start up to
eliminate background programs as a reason. So far, no luck.

Hmm! Run the Startup Tracker from here and read over your log file. It may
point you to the cause:

If not, run Belarc and do an evaluation on installed software. Good luck!

In the Software Versions section you'll see all of your installed software.
At the end of each entry is a clickable asterisk that will take you to the

Hmmm, interesting. It does allow me to paste when I log into the Guest
account.

Thanks Kelly, I will try that. First, based on some interesting revelations
(paste works in safe and guest mode), I'm thinking its Spyware. I'm trying
several programs now. Webroot Spysweeper has found 16 new items not seen in
adaware. I pride myself on a clean system but it seems I have been duped!
