I have been given a computer with windows 200 installed. However, it has a
password set and nobody
can remember what the password is.

Can anybody tell me how I can find the password or clear it so I can use the
computer.

Regards

Have a look here, then try to avoid the mistakes of the
previous owners: Create a second admin account and
lock its password away.

"If a user password is lost, forgotten, or unknown, the only method to reset
the password is for the administrator (or a user with administrative access)
to log on and reset the password in Computer Management. There is no method
in the Windows 2000 security model to bypass, disable, or reset the
password."

"If the administrator password is lost, forgotten, or unknown, access to the
computer may not be obtainable and the operating system may need to be
reinstalled."

Maybe, but there are several effective methods outside the Windows
security model:
- The Nordahl boot disk
- Various password crackers ("brute force")
- Rename the SAM file
