I am the sole user of Windows XP Professional. Within that context I use scheduled Weekly and Daily data backups in “Backup Utility for Windows.†Within the Backup Utility, these scheduled backups require a password to run.

The problem: Each time I boot up, Windows asks me for this password before I can get to the Desktop.

The question: How can I program Windows to accept this password AUTOMATICALLY each time I boot up, so I can go straight to the Desktop? As the only user, I do not need, or want, Windows to ask for a password every time I turn on my computer.

Thank you.

Hi,

Start/run "control userpasswords2" (without the quotes).

Uncheck the box requiring a username and password, click apply/ok and follow
the prompts to set up a default logon.
