My windows mail passwords will not stick no matter what I do, I think I have
read all the posts and have tried everything. The problem is on my desktop
and not my notebook, both computers are running the same sostware.

Do they work the first time after you enter them? Windows Mail will forget
a password if it doesn't work.

Yes they work the first and every other time, until I close and reopen
windows mail then I have to re-enter them(Email username & password). They
are not there if I go into accounts properties and look after I have ok-ed
out.

Are you running some program that deletes temporary files, cookies,
passwords and more?

The passwords are stored in the Registry. One of your security programs is
probably blocking that. Boot into Safe Mode with Networking and enter the
password.

Still will not work in Safe Mode, is worse, can't even check email. Username
stays, but not password.

what are you doing to make it want to leave?
lol
for those literal S.O.B, that was a joke.

oh S.O.B meant: Son Of Beatrice, lol

Then look in your security progams' options and turn off Registry
protection. What anti-virus and anti-spyware are you using?

I turned off everything still asks for user and password after close and
reopen. Password will not stay in servers tab no matter what I do. CA
Security Suite, on both computers, only one has this problem.

I created a new user account and everything works perfect, old account still
will not work. How do I fix this corrupt account?

Your old account was corrupted by your security software.
Delete it, restart Windows Mail, then recreate that account.

I created a new user account on vista not win mail. I had already deleted the
win mail files, and started over, that did not work. If it works on a new
Vista account, but not the old vista account how can it be the security
software, and why not have the same problem on my notebook, which has the
same security running?

Running a non-compatible antivirus is like being exposed to a
contagious disease with a long incubation period. Most people
will catch the disease eventually, but a few never do.

I used Safe Mode with networking!

:

Not Safe Mode at the top; Safe Mode with Networking farther down.

Username

Because the security software hasn't screwed up the new account yet.
Security software reported to do this are (so far) Norton, McAfee and Trend,
plus just about anything with email scanning turned on.
