Password Protecting Folders

Is there a way to password protect individual folders? I
bring confidential work home and can't have my roommate
or visitors browsing it.

Mike;
You password your profile.
Also you need to be using NTFS and not FAT32 file system.
To check:
Open My Computer, Right click C drive, click Properties.
What does it say by "File System"?
To convert to NTFS:

Data should be safe, back-up important data just in case.
