Hi there.
My XP, home edition crashed over the weekend and so it
won't start even though I tried to fixed it with the XP
cd. I can't even log in with my administrative password.
And so I borrowed my son's computer which has XP home
edition also and I installed my hard drive as a slave
drive into it to see if I can save my personal files.
Well, all my files are in there but they are password
protected.
I tried creating a network bridge so I can get into them
but I was only able to open the "User Name" folder. I also
tried setting the same password in my son's computer to
see if it will take but I still have no access to my
folders.
I called a friend with XP professional and he told me that
I may be able to do it with "Pro" because I can click on
the folder and claim ownership of it. I'm not sure about
this and I don't want to go and buy the upgrade without
knowing if it will fix my problem.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks for the help in advance.
