Walter R.

I am running XP SP2. I recently ran a virus scan with Kaspersky virus
checker.

It did not find any viruses on my C drive but it found 459 "Password
Protected Files".

Why would there be any such files on my computer? I am the only one who is
using it and I never use passwords.

Thanks for any enlightenment.

Have you done a search on Kaspersky's website to see what they mean by
"Password Protected Files". You know you didn't password protect any
files, so maybe you should try finding out what they mean by that. Also
can you see any pattern in the types of files that it is logging as PPF?

Check with Kaspersky Tech support for what that message means.
