OK so here's the deal. I use windows XP of course, and
have my account and documents password protected. I'm
planning on getting a hard drive to keep all of my
documents stuff on so its safe if my computer goes
whacky. I can simply do this by going start: right click
on documents, and then relocate the folder on the new
drive. Question is.... With any other data, keeping the
same mobo, if I reformat my system drives (in my case
2x60 gigs on raid-0), and then install windows again i
should be able to detect the other drive and it will have
everything on it. However, my documetns is password
protected. So, if I reformat with my docs on the other
HD, will the password protection die with the reformat of
windows, or will it stay with that hard drive and those
files will be unrecoverable?
