Hello -

I have a very sensitive (high profile/personal data) word document that I need to send as an e-mail attachment( zipped of course). I enabled the open/modify password protect on it. Does that help at all, to protect the doc itself from possibly gettin' to the hackers' lap

Thanks for your input!

Hi there,

If you are worried about a hacker... then do not eMail your document - Print
it out snail mail it recommended! I am no hacker, but if you send me your
Word document protected by a password, I will eventually get into it... so a
hacker will as well.

You can make it more difficult though... Use a very long password not based
on any dictionary Word (Usually a mix of digits and letters is
recommended)... Right off the bat, a hcaker may give up if it takes too long
to crack the password, not that he could not, nut might just give up! Also,
you can also protect the zip file with a password. So the double password
might work...

No guarantees though!

Thanks so much for responding

Unfortunately, they REQUIRE to send/submit the doc via e-mail/not much choice for me but to be creative in enabling a password protect measure.
