Password protect internet connection

Recently installed 2Wire Home Portal 1000SW wireless.(SBC)
Can't password protect internet connection. 4 users on XP,
only one desktop running now, plan for 1 more desktop and
1 laptop. 1 administrator running XP Home. Only 'help'
received from SBC or 2Wire was to activate their parental
controls, still think it has to be an XP option, but can't
find. The internet connection w/ curent setup is on as
soon as any user logs on. Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm sorry, but Windows XP doesn't have passwords for Internet
connections.
