How do you password protect a 3.5 floppy? I can get to
the sharing but I don't want that, I want to password
protect the entire floppy... Can you help?
Thanks

Windows XP offers no provision to password-protect a floppy disk.
You may wish to visit www.google.com and perform a search for
a third-party program.

The concept of security is associated with the NTFS file system. Floppies
must use the very old FAT12 file system, which has no security.

If you want security on removeable media, either try somehting more modern
than a floppy, or get a program to encrypt the data before writing it to the
floppy. However, be warned that if you forget the password, you will not be
able to access your own data. If you have WINZIP, that provides a weak
level of password protection.

A better question is why are you still using floppy disks for storing files?
They hold very little and are less reliable over time than any other media.
