I would like to save a report as a snapshot and add a password to it. I plan
to email the saved snapshot and I want the receiver to be prompted for a psw
to view it.

Thanks

A snapshot is a save MS Access report that is only viewable with MS Snapshot
viewer. I want to create the report in Access and passward protect it. I am
not sure if MS Snapshot viewer supports passwords.

Thanks

I don't think the snapshot viewer does support passwords, Eric. But WinZip
does. You could use it to create a password-protected zip file containing
your snapshot file. (There are probably other file-compression tools you
could use, WinZip is just the one with which I am most familiar).

Thanks Brendan,

Could I create a Winzip folder and add some report files from within Access?

Thanks again

Eric:

There's no way to password protect a snapshot. On the other hand, you can
password protect a report that is output to a PDF file, both for opening and
for changes. If you need to automate the output of reports as password
protected PDF files and then mail them, check out our PDF and Mail Library
for Access, Pro Plus edition. You'll find it on our web.
