Password problem - I never set one up!

Help! My database is now asking for a password but I never created one!
Hitting enter doesn't work.

This started after creating a button on a form in another database. I wanted
to open a different form in a different db. Can't do that, apparently, so I
set the button up to launch Access (a new window). THat didn't work - deleted
the button. The existing button runs a hyperlink to the db - worked at
first,, but no longer, so I suspect the launch ap button screwed me up.

Any Hope? or do I find a password wiping out utility?

Thanks

Is it asking for a username and password, or just a password?

If it's a username and password, this means that you are connected to a
different security file (.mdw). Try using admin with no password.

If this works, use the Security Manager to change your security file to
the standard one, I'll have to dig up the path. It's been a while.

It varies depending on how Access has been installed, but typically it
will be in one of:

Windows\System\System.mdw
Windows\System32\System.mdw
WINNT\System32\System.mdw

or just search your disk for SYSTEM.MDW (and hope that someone hasn't
meddled with it).
