Outlook Express is asking me for a password. I have just
recently got XP home. I have not put on a password and
cannot access my mail. Does anyone know what to do?
Please.

You should contact your ISP and setup a password
with them in order to have access to your email, which
resides on your ISP's email server.

This is the password you have to access your mail from your internet
provider's mail server. It is usually the same password that you use to
connect to the internet if using a dial-up modem.

This is something that XP does. If you have MSN
Messenger - you can have it use the password you logon
with (onto XP). So most likely, this password is your
logon password.

Mary,

Most email nowadays requires a password to access the
account whether it be web mail (hotmail, yahoo, etc) or
with an ISP (aol, earthlink, optimum online). I'm not
doubting that you don't have the password but are you
sure that you never had it and just forgot? Your best
bet is to go back to the source (your email provider) and
try to retrieve the password. Once you do so, you can go
into Outlook express and put in your userid and password.

Hope this helps.
