Password not retained in Outlook 2002 under Windows Vista 64 bit p

Whenever I start Outlook 2002 SP3 on my Windows Vista 64 bit pc I get a
request to enter my ISP password and the passowrd box is blank even although
each time I check the box 'remember passord'. My Outlook is set to
automtically send/receive on connect but it make no difference if this is set
to manual.
I have performed the 'fix' recommended in Article 290684 "Save password
setting not retained in Outlook or Outlook Express" but this has no effect.
Can anyone help. This is driving me crazy!

Office 2002 is not fully compatible with any version of Vista. If you notice
the kb article cites Outlook Express as well. OE doesn't run on Vista.
I'm afraid there's nothing you can do AFAIK...
